Under Massachusetts' Dog Bite Statute and Laws, the owner of a dog that bites a person or causes damages because of an alleged bite or other incident is strictly liable.. This liability can extend to a person who harbors or keeps the dog as well, otherwise known as a "Keeper." There are limited exceptions to the liability imposed by this statute, but defenses do exist nonetheless.
